Our Policy direction


i)                    To Enhance the Effectiveness of the United Nations

Keep our faith in the United Nations (UN) and its charter as an indispensable foundation of a more peaceful and a just world through sustainable advocacy and cooperation with governments and multi lateral organizations.

ii)                  Defining Africa’s Future

Facilitate policy dialogue on Africa’s long-term development prospects; explore a number of critical economic and social trends that are emerging to define the continents future development prospects, including Africa’s changing demographics, the structure of its economies and the quality of its governance institutions.

iii)                Making Globalization a Positive Force

Anchor policy action to ensure that globalization becomes a positive force for the entire world’s people by making it fully inclusive and equitable.

iv)                Ensuring Greater World Security

Focus on world reforms especially at the United Nations Systems as a precondition for greater world security as well as progress and setbacks in the global fights against terrorism, assessment of the danger of unresolved crises and financing for development.

v)                  Consolidating the Existing Paths of Multilateral Cooperation

Engage in official visits to foreign Heads of State, including heads of substantive global unions and pertinent international development cooperation agencies and organizations to consolidate the existing paths of cooperation and creating new ones where possible.

i)                    Developing Technical Cooperation Projects

Under multilateral frameworks, GCID is developing innovative technical cooperation projects on its programmes of action to tackle the most pressing challenges that impedes development especially in developing countries.

ii)                  Offering Advisory Assistance to Governments

GCID offer policy advisory assistance to foreign governments and multilateral organizations, including capacity development and to ensure policy coherence. It placed emphasis on the importance of Policy Coherence in all facets of development and reforms, including International Monetary, Financial and Trading   Systems to the extent that such actions would favour development since “Coherence” agenda can be used to consolidate neoliberal policies.
